Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a medical condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus which is known as endometrium grows outside the uterus. This tissue responds to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle which leads to inflammation, pain, and the formation of scar tissue. Common symptoms of Endometriosis include pelvic pain, painful periods, and fertility issues. Endometriosis mainly affects women and can impact various organs in the pelvic region. The diagnosis that is involved is laparoscopic surgery and treatment options include medication or a combination of both surgery and medicines.
